DECA Ontario Provincials Update

On Sunday, February 7^{th, 2009 the Orchard Park DECA chapter sent ten of its finest business students to compete at the provincial championships. The provincials were held in downtown Toronto for 2 days at the Sheraton hotel across from Nathan Phillips Square. Studying and preparations aside, the team took in the sights and sounds of downtown Toronto.  The following students represented Orchard Park in their respective events:} 

-Sabtain Ali (Principles of hospitality and tourism)

-Susan Dang (University of Waterloo event)

-Abdullah Khan (Automotive services marketing)

-Rahul Kapoor (Quick serve marketing)

-Anja Djuric & Mila Maric (Sports and entertainment decision making)

-Michael Manojlovich & Dean Pessoa (Financial services decision making)

- Jeet Multani & Viren Patel (University of Guelph team event)

The entire team worked very hard and held their own against five thousand other competitors from around the province. In the end, Sabtain Ali brought home a medal for a top 20 finish in the written portion of his event! The team should be commended for their hard work and dedication. Moreover, the DECA club will be looking for new members this spring. Please listen to announcements for the next recruitment drive. Our goal is to compete and qualify for the 2011 International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida. Think big OP DECA!
